What changes
GIF uses up to256colours per frame and has no sound. This tool uses opaque frames and an adaptive palette without dithering. Smooth gradients and colour-critical or HDR footage may change appearance. Browser video colour interpretation can vary. Export SDR progressive video for predictable results.
Privacy and practical limits
One decoded frame at a time goes to a dedicated local encoding worker. The output is checked for its GIF structure, frame count, timing and native image decoding before download. Header checks do not prove every compressed video packet is safe. Use trusted files; low-memory devices may require smaller settings.
Cancel terminates the encoding worker and releases video, canvas and temporary URLs. Reset also removes completed previews and downloads. Browser memory erasure is not guaranteed. File bytes, names and frame hashes are not sent to analytics or a conversion service.
